LOCAL COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Ventura Homeless Prevention Fund
The Ventura Homeless Prevention Fund (VHPF) exists to prevent homelessness for families and individuals on the verge of becoming homeless due to the impact of a one-time but consequential event such as an accident or illness. Current Ventura residents are eligible for this assistance.

Of special note to prospective Donors, 100% of your contribution to the Ventura Homeless Prevention Fund prevents homelessness for families with children, seniors, women and men currently residing in the city of Ventura. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Donate to the Ventura Homeless Prevention Fund through United Way of Ventura. In the “Apply Donation To” please select Ventura Homeless Prevention Fund.  Alternative gift-giving in Honor / Memory / Celebration of someone is encouraged and welcome. Please contact VHPF at 805/626-0363 or on-line at vhpf.net

Home Share of Ventura
Homeshare is a program that matches persons in need of an affordable place to live with homeowners with extra rooms.  Homeshare is not an emergency housing program as the application, interview and background check process may take some time. Check out the HomeShare Information Booklet online or call (805) 477-7300.

Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)
Through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Ventura County Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program is making federal funds available to local residents who would be homeless but for this assistance. County and city governments have joined efforts to operate HPRP, ensuring that eligible County residents receive help when they need it most.
