UU the Vote Team
UU the Vote is a social action group for those who want to protect democracy in America. An ongoing program coordinated by the national Unitarian Universalist Association. Involves partnering with other nonprofit agencies for nonpartisan voter activities. Includes voter registration, texting, letters, and phone calls to get out the vote. This can go beyond local elections to help address important voter issues in other states.
Current Status – As needed for upcoming elections.
Participation – Open to all members and friends of the church.
Whenever possible, coordinated action among nearby UU churches is the most effective. (Santa Paula & Thousand Oaks)
Qualifications – Registered voters
Meeting Location – Mostly Zoom meetings notified via email and UUCV This Week announcements.
Duration – Primarily during presidential and mid-term election years from January to November.
Meeting Days, Times, Length – As needed.
Costs to Attend – None, but donations are needed for letter materials and stamps.
Leader – Actively seeking leaders to build more powerful team actions.
