STEWARDSHIP
“We build on foundations we did not lay.
We warm ourselves at fires we did not light.
We sit in the shade of trees we did not plant.
We drink from wells we did not dig.
We profit from persons we did not know.
We are ever bound in community.”
Deuteronomy 6:10-12, adapted by UU Minister Rev. Dr. Peter S. Raible
Pledged donations are the primary funding source that pays for our worship services, religious education classes, instrumental and choral music program, and other programs we offer. Since we do not keep our weekly offerings to operate our church, anyone visiting our church may become a pledging friend or explore the “Path to Membership.” Pledged amounts remain in effect until you change or terminate them, which can be done at any time.
We ask members and pledging friends to consider increasing their pledges incrementally each year. Many people believe that generosity, like compassion, is one of their fundamental values. Here are some guidelines for managing your pledge:
- Pledge payments can be made via cash, check or automatic payments via your bank’s bill paying service.
- Please go here to make Pledges or Donations online
- You may prefer to pledge payments from your IRA custodian account or with transfer of stocks/mutual funds to the church.
- You can name UUCV as a beneficiary in your trust or will by directing funds to the “Unitarian Universalist Church of Ventura.”
