CHILDREN & YOUTH CURRICULA

UU teaches young children about love, reason, tolerance and to think for themselves.

Religious Education Program:

Religious education includes all of the ways that children, teens and adults grow toward their potential as compassionate, ethical and fulfilled human beings. Our Religious Education (RE) program is grounded in our Unitarian Universalist principles and sources, and in our relationships with one another

Nursery: Infants & Preschool
Nursery Care for children under age three is provided from 9:30am-11:30am. Children are introduced to our UU values of love and kindness through modeling, sharing, and play.

UU Stories for Elementary Ages (K-3)
For younger elementary ages, this class introduces children to the Unitarian Universalist principles and values through picture books, media, activities, crafts, music and games. Teachers help children develop a supportive group atmosphere.

Meditation, Movement, & Music (Upper Elementary and up)
This program combines story, song, art, movement, discussion, and play to engage children with many learning styles, abilities, and activity levels. Designed for ages 9 and up, this program offers a variety of experiential activities such as meditation and reflection, yoga, dance, singing, art and music to help children learn about our faith and to build relationships with one another

Youth Group

All middle and high schoolers are welcome. We promote youth empowerment as our middle & high school youth gather for discussion, action, and fun based on social justice, worship, fellowship, learning, and leadership opportunities.

Our Whole Lives (OWL)
OWL is an antidote to sexualized media messages, peer pressure, misinformation and prejudice. It provides accurate, age-appropriate information, puts sexuality in the context of values and personal responsibility, supports healthy decision making, and strengthens social skills. These skills and values help prepare youth to make healthy choices for life.

Family-Friendly Space in the Sanctuary. Children and youth are always welcome to stay in the sanctuary for the service. There is an intentional family-friendly seating for all ages in the west alcove.
